FEATURE: Meet Emmanuela Bamiloye

First of all success to me isn't being rich or wealthy, it is achieving God given dreams and visions. I'll say my greatest motivation for success is bringing glory to God. Whenever I remember that a particular thing will bring God glory, I go for it.

Enjoy our chat with her in this revealing and inspiring interview.

Who is Emmauela?

Emmanuela Ifeoluwa Evbuoma is a medical doctor who loves God, loves writing and art. She has a passion to reach out to people and is convinced writing is a solid tool to do so.

How long have you been writing?

Well, I used to just scribble random stuff on post on Facebook before but serious writing started like 3 to 4 years

What motivated you to be a writer?

I just loved the fact that I could extract lessons from my life experiences and share them. I also love that I can just create stories that bless lives.

Do you think you were a born writer?

Nah, I don't think so

Most of your writings seem to be from a personal standpoint. Are they from personal experiences?

Yes, 99.9% of those written in first person.

 Tell us about your works?

My articles are strictly gospel based, inspired by happenings around me and personal experiences and are aimed at ministering to people's heart. I recently started fiction. They are captivating modern Nigerian stories you can relate with yet full of Biblical lessons. Among them are Gbemi, Behind Closed Doors, The Abiodun's Family Drama and so on. You can read them on www.victorypath.com

How do you gain inspiration to write?

The Holy Spirit helps me draw lessons from events around me and personal experiences.

Did you have to train yourself to write simple yet profound stories or does it come naturally?

Hmm... I guess it just comes naturally. I'm not one of those people that read, as a matter of fact, I find it hard to read particularly big books yet I enjoy writing.

You were recently in the Mount Zion movie stalker and also you are also a  medical doctor. Can you tell us how you have been able to combine all the demands they come with. Was it your first feature movie if yes, how was it?

Usually I ask God for wisdom and direction. It's not been easy, sacrifices have had to be made and I've also had to turn down some offers. The most important thing is I ask God where He wants me to be and once i am convinced about it, He always make a way for me to be there. Concerning writing, I've had to put in more effort like waking up at night and I've had to deny myself of certain pleasures.
It was my first. The experience was great. I met amazing people and I learnt a lot about movie making.

Are we right to also call you an actress?

Well I believe so.
What is your greatest motivation for success?

First of all success to me isn't being rich or wealthy, it is achieving God given dreams and visions. I'll say my greatest motivation for success is bringing glory to God. Whenever I remember that a particular thing will bring God glory, I go for it.

How do you define yourself cause we are short for words as regards what to define you as?

Hehehe... I don't think I'm in the best position to define myself. It is those around me that will do it better.

What projects are you currently working on?

I'm writing a new story, haven't decided the title yet.

What challenges have you faced In your career?

The busy schedule has made me put a lot of other things on hold. It's not been easy combing different things.

How have you overcome them?

Like I said earlier, I depend on God's wisdom and grace.

On a lighter mood, you are very tall and beautiful and it wouldn’t be strange in this part of the world to see you as a model so I want to know, have you ever considered modelling?

The truth is I did, a long time ago. When I just started my University education, I began getting offers. I knew I had to make a choice sooner than later. I decided to pray about it and God clearly told me 'no'. He didn't say why but I had so much peace. Ever since then, when people say things like 'you are wasting your height, go and make money in modelling' I'm not moved because I know I'm on track. So basically, what matters most is that you are led by God.

Do you have any word of advice for your readers?

Put God first, all other things will follow

Burning Coles (Pt. 2) - Emmanuela Evbuoma

‘My leg my leg’ Seyi who now was sitting on the floor cried. ‘Oh my God’ Mrs Cole exclaimed as she saw the oil stain on her daughter’s sky blue jean trousers. She quickly turned off the gas cooker and helped Seyi remove her trouser as she called on top of her voice to Mr Cole, who was hearing all that was going on but showed no interest. Mr Cole staggered into the kitchen ‘what is it? Why you shouting my name like they are chasing you?’ he asked, obviously drunk. ‘Hot oil poured on your daughter’s thighs and that’s all you can say?’ she asked as she poured cool water on Seyi’s thighs. ‘So what do you now want me to do?’ he asked annoyingly ‘better take her to the hospital and don’t disturb me’ he said and turned around to leave. ‘Ha is that all you have to say?’ Mrs Cole was fed up of her husband’s lackadaisical attitude. She lifted Seyi up from the floor and supported her as they walked out of the kitchen to the main door. She shouted on top of her voice ‘Bimbo b
