Last night I found myself dazed, bruised, disillusioned and
ultimately concussed after I had a supposed collision with a striker on the football
field which I had no recollection of.
The events that succeeded the occurrence is such which was grey and
mind boggling as I tried to reconcile what really happened to me.
I found myself on the sideline without knowing when and how I found myself
there with people asking if I knew what really happened to me and I kept telling
them I didn't know....
I kept wondering what could have happened to me until I realized I was manifesting the symptoms of a concussion without the memory of it.
The very same one that almost made Petr Cech lose his life playing for
Chelsea against Reading in 2005 when an opposing player; Kevin Hunt clashed into
his head and ever since has seen him wearing a head mask to protect himself as
well as the recent case of concussion suffered by the loaned out Liverpool
goalkeeper Loris Karius in the champions league final against Real Madrid in Kiev, 2018.
I was unaware of what was transpiring around me except a distorted
recollection of a select dialogue people had with me. I was later driven home and I found myself waking up with a swelling
on the right side of my head as well as a bruise on my hand which I was totally
oblivious to before I got home after which some pieces of the puzzle begun to
come back with me remembering the events of the few seconds before I blacked out;
receiving a total of seven separate bruises on my forehead, wrist, cheek, under
arm, shoulder, right and left side of my neck.
The last thing I remembered was that there was a goal scoring
opportunity I was trying to prevent after which I seemed lost in an abyss where
the events of my life flashed before my very eyes with me being a spectator to
the unfolding events. I woke up since last night with a heavy and constant pound in my
head like a cathedral bell. I discovered I had sustained series of injuries I had
no idea how they came about.
There were varying accounts from several people which seemed really vague
to me till this day one of which was the assertion that almost a bag of pure
water was poured on me after the clash which I have no memory of whatsoever as
well as the fact they informed I kept saying leave me alone, I'm fine of some
sorts. It was not until later that it dawned on me that this experience has a spiritual symbolism.
Many Christians forget that the impact sin has on an
individual is like a concussion. The moment an individual is caught in the web
of sin, his mind becomes a slave to his flesh. Such that the christian finds himself getting
involved in activities they wouldn't have desired getting involved in in the
first place.
Just like a concussion robs you of your mind so also does sin rob
you of total control. Sin enslaves the body, it is like a deadly virus which takes
hold of the sanity of a man.
When you lose the mind of Christ in your life (Philippians 2:5), you are like a
concussed individual who has completely yielded his life to a different force
who has a destructive aim which is to kill, to steal and destroy you (John 10:10); as well as
the purpose of God right before your very eyes because the moment sin makes you
concussed, it decapitates and paralyzes and individual leaving the mind of such
under the control and dictatorship of the devil.
Are you currently concussed by sin? Totally oblivious of the pattern
of your life. Do you feel lost? Confused? And distraught? It's because you have
let the voice of the devil take hold of you but do not be dismayed because the power of God is able to silence every contradictory voice. (Isaiah 59:19).
Dear Reader, no longer should you give room to fear or worry, do not be dismayed.
Do not have the defeatist mindset if you are concussed because the efficacy of
the blood of Jesus silences every voice that lays siege upon your life, destiny
and purpose. His blood will completely transform and rejuvenate your life and destiny
from every concussion.
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us,
which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly,
triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:14-15).
Let the blood of Jesus and his voice speak and every other name fade
away and because while we were yet sinners, Christ paid the ultimate price and
died for us (Romans 5:8). He was bruised, wounded and spat on for your transgressions and by
his stripes their is no sinful concussion that should hold siege or control
over you. (Isaiah 53:5)
