I Am Still Single, Am Not Dead

It's that time of the year again, when a lot of people bow to the pressure that comes with being single at a time as this. Many have been blinded by the illusion that it is shaping up to be a curse to spend valentines day single. I strongly wonder why a lot of people are in a state of constant desperation and worry all because of a day that has been designated for the celebration of Love. A lot of people have lost focus and let their guard down as a result of their impatience and failure to wait for the right person that will compliment them.

What I seem not to understand is why a lot of people feel pressured to have dates on valentines day. As a matter of fact, this is supposed to be a day to celebrate the true definition of love. It is appalling that the basis and significance has been hijacked to promote and fulfil the lusts of the flesh. Rather than an occasion for husband and wives to rekindle their love for one another, Fiance and Fiancee to spend time together within godly restrictions and single male and female to honour their body as a living sacrifice undefiled until their wedding night. It is saddening that today a lot of young guys and girls will sell themselves short and give in to the pressures and demands of the world.

Wake up from your slumber you sleeping prince and princesses of the most the most high God. Don't let the devil cheat, manipulate and sabotage the plans and purpose of God for your life. You are a royal priesthood, an holy nation set apart for the masters use. It doesn't matter what the world says or how much it tries to make you feel less of the way God has created you. You are special, you are unique, You are royalty from the lineage of the most high God. Don't sell yourself short. Don't be ashamed, there is no greater purpose your life could carry right now than for it to be set apart from the imprisonment and dictates of the world whose aim is to set you up for eternal damnation.

When the ways and patterns of the world takes centre stage in the life of a man, such a person is bound for destruction. Don't fall for the manipulations and deceit, choose life  and stay alive. When you fail to subject yourself to the world,  it is then you will succeed in submitting yourself to the confines of the word of God.When you dwell in the secret place of the most high God, you will constantly abide under his shadow of protection and security. Don't leave his shadow just to give in to a few minutes of pleasure whose consequences will mar the purpose of God for your life and leave you scarred.

I am with you in the fight as a single guy with a lot of pressure to give in to the demands and dictates of the world to be drawn into the allure of the pleasures of this world whose pleasure is but for a time but whose end leads to destruction. You are not alone in the fight. Don't be fooled, it is not a curse to be single on a day like this. Enjoy your singleness and revel in it because this moment is just but for a time cause it will not be forever. I am single, am not dead and I'd rather stay this way than mesh with different bodies and lose myself, my virtue, my dignity and worth just because of the gratification of the flesh for just a day and bear the consequences that will probably last a life time or lose my soul to be condemned to eternal death.

Burning Coles (Pt. 2) - Emmanuela Evbuoma

‘My leg my leg’ Seyi who now was sitting on the floor cried. ‘Oh my God’ Mrs Cole exclaimed as she saw the oil stain on her daughter’s sky blue jean trousers. She quickly turned off the gas cooker and helped Seyi remove her trouser as she called on top of her voice to Mr Cole, who was hearing all that was going on but showed no interest. Mr Cole staggered into the kitchen ‘what is it? Why you shouting my name like they are chasing you?’ he asked, obviously drunk. ‘Hot oil poured on your daughter’s thighs and that’s all you can say?’ she asked as she poured cool water on Seyi’s thighs. ‘So what do you now want me to do?’ he asked annoyingly ‘better take her to the hospital and don’t disturb me’ he said and turned around to leave. ‘Ha is that all you have to say?’ Mrs Cole was fed up of her husband’s lackadaisical attitude. She lifted Seyi up from the floor and supported her as they walked out of the kitchen to the main door. She shouted on top of her voice ‘Bimbo b
