Morakinyo Olumodimu; a city set on the hill

Image may contain: 3 people, people smiling
May your life be full of renewed happiness and prosperity,
On your path, you will walk with boldness and confidence,
Reaching for the skies and getting to the heights you never imagined,
As you fly, may your wings of purpose not get clipped and tossed around,
Keeper of life will protect you under the shadow of His wings.

In the daytime, the sun will obey you, in the night time, the moon will obey you,
Nations of the earth will call you blessed; as the earth willingly yields her increase,
You will be blessed and honoured all the days of your life as you walk into purpose,
Olodumare will sustain, replenish and cause you to triumph and do greater exploits.

Oh what great gift you are to the world; my heartcry is you break forth and blossom exceedingly,
Like a tree planted by the rivers of water, your yield will come in it's season.
Under no circumstance whatever will your leaf wither and whatever you touch shall prosper.
May your sun not set at midday and may your moon not rise in the morning,
Only the promises of God will carry weight and hold ground over your life, destiny and purpose.

Day after day, May your head never lack oil, may your strength never diminish as you overflow.
In the morning, noon, and night, the presence of God will overwhelm and shield you,
Making you untouchable and unshakable; a battle axe indeed from the heavenly regiment,
Uplifted never to be pulled down, your family and purpose is hid in Christ with God.

Happy birthday to a mighty man of valour, a wonderful King to his Queen and the no 1 protector and defender of his beautiful Princess. A city set on the hill that shall not be moved.

Poetry:The Altar of Matrimony

I have waited,  I have really waited For many days and nights Through many sunrise and sunsets  That I have lost pace with. I have always wondered And found myself lost In the world of my thoughts I have been shamed I have been mocked I have been chided All because I chose To wait for you And dance to the rhythm That we have been instructed. This day Seemed never to arrive Out of impatience People have broken themselves Into different souls And meshed with different bodies. I am so proud I waited for you I am so proud I am not a coward For pinning values on you That I refuse myself. This night We will teach ourselves The rhythm of love And move at our own pace Tonight I see not used good But a beautiful treasure. I see not an art in a hurry to act but an art whose beauty ages  like a fine wine. Ton...

Burning Coles (Pt. 2) - Emmanuela Evbuoma

‘My leg my leg’ Seyi who now was sitting on the floor cried. ‘Oh my God’ Mrs Cole exclaimed as she saw the oil stain on her daughter’s sky blue jean trousers. She quickly turned off the gas cooker and helped Seyi remove her trouser as she called on top of her voice to Mr Cole, who was hearing all that was going on but showed no interest. Mr Cole staggered into the kitchen ‘what is it? Why you shouting my name like they are chasing you?’ he asked, obviously drunk. ‘Hot oil poured on your daughter’s thighs and that’s all you can say?’ she asked as she poured cool water on Seyi’s thighs. ‘So what do you now want me to do?’ he asked annoyingly ‘better take her to the hospital and don’t disturb me’ he said and turned around to leave. ‘Ha is that all you have to say?’ Mrs Cole was fed up of her husband’s lackadaisical attitude. She lifted Seyi up from the floor and supported her as they walked out of the kitchen to the main door. She shouted on top of her voice ‘Bimbo b...
